Leaving Singapore, we drove for abut three hours to a great little city called Malacca. A cool city that mixes amazing history (a 300 year old church!) with the most modern of malls and stores. It was fun wandering around Jonker street and seeing all the antiques and artwork. After a day in Malacca we drove across Malaysia to Mersing where we hopped on a boat for a few days out on Rawa.
Rawa is a tiny little island in Indonesia that only has a few houses on it, a nice restaurant, and a fantastic beach! There is a beautiful pier with a slide that goes right into the ocean. The boys played for hours on the beach swimming, sliding, kayaking, badminton-ing, snorkeling - Ethan even swam down deep enough to touch an anemone and cradle its clown fish in his hand! A really fun trip and a great way to end our summer!
And let's not forget we celebrated a couple birthdays this summer! Happy 3rd birthday to Liam and Happy 10th Birthday to Ethan! Whew, time flies. Among a couple of pretty cool presents, Ethan got a kitten for his birthday - she is adorable and the boys named her "Ahsoka Tano Jedi Padwan". . . "Soka" for short. :)
