We have recovered from the holidays, and I finally have some time to post some new photos and stories. We had a great and long holiday this year - the kids had three full weeks off school, and we managed to keep ourselves quite busy. We decided not to travel anywhere but instead just stayed in Singapore, celebrated the holidays, and explored.
The weeks leading up to Christmas were very festive in Singapore with huge, elaborately decorated trees on nearly every street corner. The main roads through the city had bright lights draped across them and all the lampposts were turned into candy canes. Everything was there but the snow. I thought the "warmer versions" of a Christmas in California and Texas were different. . . nothing like Singapore. But even as hot and muggy as it was, wherever we went there was festive music blaring and stores offering anything and everything you could possibly want for the holidays. (Singapore has more malls than I have ever seen in one place, and every one of those malls goes into overdrive for the holidays.)
To everyone's relief, Santa managed to find us all the way down here in the tropics, and even without a chimney to scoot down, left plenty of toys under our tree. It was the absolute best kind of day for the boys - one filled with Legos! Hope you all had great holidays, too!
